i was wondering if you can charm bears. i have a wolf but want a bear?

i think that they still have break charm

I tried last night solo for about 30 minutes to charm one. He kept breaking charm on me at about 50% through the cast. I'm going to try to get a tank to hold him off while I try to charm from a distance tonight. If that doesn't work not sure what can be done.

I actually did a search and found several topics on this, you should try it

You can find the tame-able (green label) black bear outside the east exit of Beacon's Perch... although keep in mind that the monsters that patrol and lurk underground (frost wurms) ARE lvl 20+

I managed to tame one after several attempts (at lvl 14).
it took patience, the right timing and monster spawn each return to the map (monster spawn varies). Sometimes you get less monsters on patrol.. other times you get more.

good luck =].. my bear is almost lvl 20 =P

and yes alternatively you can try to get one in pre-sear but you will need someone to interrupt the bear's charm break. maybe have a mage use lightning javalin (and blind?). i think thats the only interrupt spell around in pre-sear.

also has anyone heard of the Elder Snow Wolf? some where around copperhammer mines path to granite

also lightning javelin interrupts "attacking foes"...i'm not really sure if breaking charm counts as attacking but i'll give it a go and report my findings
